Video | 01 Big Hero 6 - Sound Remake

This is a quick sound remake for a coursework - Music and Sound for Visual Media. The sounds in the clip are 98% foley recorded, the video was given by the lecturer and so it is not in HD quality. Understand that the sound design can still be better by polishing up and adding new layers of sound, but this showcases the ability to finish a clip in about less than 3 weeks.

Video | 02 Digi Diwali - Sound Remake

This sound effects remake was a random motive out of boredom in the Covid-19 lockdown time. The sound remake does not include the narrator and music.

Video | 03 Pixar Minion - Sound Remake

This sound remake was mainly just for fun, and it was done with my friend Lexi Chan. Both of us recorded the ADR by ourselves by doing random words with the ad-libs.

For this sound remake, it is also a collaboration with Lexi Chan. She is the composer for the clip, and I am the audio editor and sound designer. We did the audio & video mastering together to perfect the sounds.

Video | 05 Freelance

This sound design was done for a student project in Shanghai Institute of Visual Art and has done in a very limited time. The file and communication are mainly through online social media, and the ADR was recorded by the Chinese so it was tricky to sync the voice when they changed the story in the middle of the project.

The requirement from the client for this project is to emphasize the string and movement sounds, and also to make the sound close to real situation sound rather than putting too much cartoon sounds.

Video | 06 Disney Animation [Up] - Sound Remake

This sound design is the very first project that has been done for my Diploma course back in Malaysia. Though the sound effects are mainly downloaded and given by the lecturer, however, this project made me fall in love with audio-visual production and gained a lot of appreciation with sound design for films.

Video | 07 INVASION! by Baobab Studio - Sound Remake

The purpose of this sound remake is for my final year project in my degree course. The topic of the dissertation is Translating 5.1 Surround Sound into Binaural 3D Audio for VR Simulator.

This project involved binaural impulse response, sound design, mixing in 5.1 surrounds multichannel format, two-channel stereo object-based format, and MUSHRA test.

The primary idea of this project is from noticing that people tend to listen to music and watch videos with a pair of headphones or earbuds more often in their on-the-go daily life to entertain themselves in their busy lives, and not everyone has a properly set up surround system in their house. Therefore, in order to bring the 5.1 surround sound's spatial characteristics to a pair of headphone, binaural would be the best option for immersive listening.
